Robin Black, Managing Partner

Robin is the Managing Partner of Catalyst and a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Catalyst, he was a founder of Balmuir Partners for 3 years and a senior partner of Botts & Company for 13 years where he focused on mid market private equity investments in the UK.

A graduate of Exeter University, he qualified as a chartered accountant with Peat Marwick Mitchell in London. In 1985 he joined Bankers Trust’s private equity and leveraged finance group working in both Los Angeles and London.

Currently Chairman of Osprey Publishing, Robin is a non-executive director of Heartstone Inns and Aqua Service, and Treasurer and a Trustee of Malvern College. He was previously a non-executive director of a number of private and public companies including Malmaison, Cineworld, Continuum Publishing and Primesight.
